ATK Midfielder Signs To Management Agency

Sporting Group International India (SGII) are delighted to announce it has added another Indian footballer to its ever-growing roster.

ATK midfielder Darren Caldeira joins the UK and India based player agency who also boast his team-mate Jayesh Rane amongst their stable.

The Mumbai-born midfielder began his career at Mahindra United before enjoying spells at Air India, Mumbai FC, JSW Bengaluru FC and Chennai City .

The 30 year old made the move to the ISL with ATK at the start of the most recent campaign.

Caldeira, who was delighted to be joining the SGI family, said, “I am extremely happy to sign with Sporting Group International.  I have spoken to many people within the game and they come very highly recommended.

“I have aspirations to win honours in the game and to be a success. I look forward to working with SGI who will support me in achieving this aim.”

SGI India General Manager Pranay Kapuria added, “We are delighted to have Darren on board, he is a top pro and we will help him to find his next destination in Indian Football”.

Mumbai born star signs player management deal

NEW DELHI, INDIA, 27 February 2018 – Sporting Group International India (SGII) are delighted to announce that they have signed one of India’s top midfielder to its player roster.

Shilton D’Silva is currently plying his trade with I-League Kolkata based side Mohun Bagan, having previously enjoyed stints at Pailan Arrows and his hometown Mumbai FC.

The 25 year old midfielder has been honoured at every age group for the Indian national side (under -16, 19 and 23) as well as three appearances for the full international side.

“I have enjoyed my football this season with Mariners and I am now at the stage of my career where I need to keep progressing and reach the potential I am confident I have.

“My association with SGI will allow me to concentrate fully on my football and being the best I can be.  The guys who have also signed with SGI have been impressed with how well they have been looked after and been represented. 

“Together I feel we can achieve great things.”

SGI India General Manager Pranay Kapuria echoed D’Silva’s sentiments:

Indian Super League stars sign groundbreaking boot deal

The Mumbai born pair have signed a multi-year deal with US sports powerhouse New Balance.

Striker Rane, a former under 23 Indian international, joined Indian Super League side ATK in the summer draft whilst defender Bheke has been earning rave reviews for current ISL league leaders Bengaluru FC.

The pair become the first Indian ISL players to sign to the brand.

“I am delighted to be linking up New Balance and being part of their strategic plan to increase their presence in Asia,” Rane said. 

“I’ve been wearing their boots since the start of the season, the look and feel fantastic.  Hopefully this will be a successful relationship for us, both on and off the pitch.”

Bheke echoed Rane’s comments: “I’ve been really impressed with the quality and comfort of New Balance’s boots; to perform at your best you have to feel the best you can on the pitch.  I know wearing New Balance boots will help me do just that.”

Defender Signs Player Management Deal

New Delhi, India, 12 February 2018 – Sporting Group International India (SGII) are delighted to announce that it has added another name to its stable of up and coming footballers plying their trade in Indian football.

Abhishek Ambekar, who can operate at either left back or as a winger, has joined SGI’s team and they will provide him with on and off field representation, whilst aiding his all-round career development.

The 26 year old Mumbai born player is earning rave reviews this season with his side Minerva Punjab who are widely regarded as favourites to win the Hero I-League title this year.

“I’m delighted to been linking up with Sporting Group International who will help guide and develop my career moving forward, I have heard very good things from players that use their services.

“The support they will provide me is invaluable, allowing to concentrate all of my efforts on the pitch on achieving success for Minerva Punjab this season”, says Abhishek.

Defender Amin puts pen to paper on Jamshedpur FC deal

Karan, 28, has put pen to paper on a deal that will see the defender join the club as they look to improve their current league position.

Born and bred in Mumbai, the defender began his career through the youth ranks at Mahindra United, Air India and Mumbai FC. The Mumbaikar also represented and captained Maharashtra’s under-21 team.

Continuing his career at Mumbai FC and DSK Shivajians in the I-League, Amin has teamed up with Steve Coppell’s side on a deal through to the end of the current campaign.

Amin said:

“The ISL is one of the fastest growing leagues in world football and I’m delighted to be joining a club that has genuine aspirations to be one the best sides in India.”

SGI Appoint Kapuria To Its New Delhi Operation

NEW DELHI, INDIA – 19 January 2018 – Sporting Group International (SGI) are delighted to announce Pranay Kapuria as its new General Manager for their New Delhi operation.

Pranay, who hails from Mumbai, recently completed his Masters in International Business Studies at University of Wolverhampton in England, receiving a Distinction.

Whilst in the UK, Pranay combined his studies with a role at Sporting Group International as their Research and Social Media Executive.  After impressing during this period, Pranay was offered the role of General Manager at Sporting Group International India in New Delhi, a position he assumed earlier this week.

Pranay will be managing the SGI’s player management programme of its footballers who ply their trade in the Indian Super League which includes Bengalaru’s Rahul Bheke and ATK’s Jayesh Rane.

In addition to this Pranay will assume responsibility for the Youth Football India (YFI) and Delhi Youth Leagues in the city.

Pranay, 22, was delighted to take up the role:

“From my 18 months experience in the UK I have picked up a lot of knowledge on how we can replicate and improve our operation here in India.

“The appetite for football is increasingly at fast rate in India and, as a big football fan myself, I would love to see this increase further.   We have a fantastic operation here at YFI already, and it is my aim to improve this further.”

SGI’s Chief Executive Adrian Wright echoed Pranay’s sentiments and added:

“Pranay is a very gifted young man that has a real passion for football, what he doesn’t know about the Indian football landscape isn’t worth knowing. If it wasn’t for his understanding, knowledge and connections in India, SGI would not have ventured in the player representation market.

“I would like to wish Pranay all the success and I cannot wait to work alongside him in a more senior capacity where he can excel with his love of the game and coupled with his learnings of business from his UK work and education.”

SGI Scores with Indian Super League

The Indian Super League, widely regarded as one of the fastest growing leagues in world football, boasts the fifth highest average attendance and now SGI have acquired the services of five top flight players, providing them with on and off field representation whilst aiding them in their all-round career development.

Indian under-23 internationals Jayesh Rane and Rahul Bheke, Ex- Afghanistan captain Zohib Islam Amiri, ‘India’s David Beckham’ Steven Dias, and Rohit Mirza join SGI’s stable with the group of players now awaiting news of their next destinations for the upcoming campaign.

Rane, 24, played a valuable part in Aizawl FC’s fairy-tale triumph of I-League.  Beginning his career at Mumbai FC before being promoted to the senior team and spent five years with the local club. The Mumbai boy also had a spell with Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League (ISL), proving to be a key player in team’s title quest.

Meanwhile Bheke, 26, has plyed his trade for the past two seasons for Kerala Blasters and FC Pune City in India’s top league, making the most appearances of any Indian player in the league last season.

Amiri, 27, has played a for a host of Indian clubs and worn the FC Goa colours in the ISL’s inaugural season. With 42 national team caps to his name, he also led the national team to glory at the 2013 SAFF Championships.

Rane, who was delighted to be joining the SGI family, said, “I am extremely happy to sign with Sporting Group International. Adrian and Karan have a long-term plan for me, which I am confident of achieving with them. I look forward to working with SGI.”

Bheke echoed his fellow countrymen’s sentiments, commenting: “I’m very excited to begin this journey with SGI.  I completely trust my decision to join with them and cannot wait to join forces.  Together we will make it big.”

After signing with SGI, Amiri said: “Born and raised in Afghanistan, India feels like home now. I thank Adrian for the association with SGI and this huge international tie up.  I can’t wait to get started!”

Sporting Group International secure UK tour of Shanghai SIPG

Shanghai SIPG plays in the Chinese Super League and finished the season in third place and will now feature in the AFC Champions League. They have recently appointed former Chelsea Head Coach Andres Villa Boas are also rumoured to be signing Oscar for £60 million from Chelsea.

Adrian Wright, CEO of SGI commented, “ We are delighted to be managing this important inaugural and prestigious UK tour of the under 19 Shanghai SIPG team.

“We have successfully negotiated fixtures for the Shanghai SIPG with Aston Villa, Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Stoke City and a select XI Birmingham County FA Team.

“In addition we have made all of the arrangements for the trip, including and selecting a number of local businesses to assist with the logistics of the tour.

“I am delighted to confirm that the accommodation is being provided by the Genting Hotel, Resorts World, with Birmingham County FA making available their training facilities and Chung Ying will be providing all of the catering.”

Sammy Yu, CEO of GGG China commented, “this something that I have always wanted to do for the football industry to benefit both the UK and China since leaving Birmingham City FC. This is a long term vision which will forge great relationships for both countries and not just in a football capacity.

The tour takes place between the 20th December and 10th January 2017 and will enable the visiting Team the chance to play senior English Teams and view their facilities.

Sporting Group International purchase YFI

The new ownership sees SGI acquiring a 100% share with the deal being completed with Adrian Wright, CEO of SGI making the 8,400 miles round trip to Delhi to meet with the team at their new Indian offices to sign the contract.

Paul Schuttenbelt Director of PSI (YFI) commented, “We selected SGI as our new owner based on the passion and belief of their CEO that Indian football will blossom and continue with its growth.

“SGI also have serious aspirations to assist India with the growth of football and impart valuable knowledge and expertise from the UK.”

The average age of the players at Youth Football International is 12 and there are over 80 teams in the League.

Youth Football International runs its academy like a typical European football club, focusing on the children and their development and offering a safe and fun environment for them to enjoy playing football.

Adrian Wright who is also President of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce commented, “We understand that this type of acquisition is the first of its kind here in the UK and we are delighted to have the opportunity to both help develop the future skills of football in India, whilst expanding our respective business communities too.

“Within this development will be a review of the standard of coaching and the engagement level with the thousands of boys and girls that are participating week in week out.

“We firmly believe that ‘grassroot’ level is the way to develop future International players and we will be working closely with coaches to ensure that this development materialises.

U19 Chinese Super League Team to be put through their paces

An under nineteen Chinese Super League Team will be making the trip to the UK over the festive period this year to play a number of professional football club academy teams in Birmingham, The Black Country and London. The forty strong party will enjoy the opportunity to see how the UK clubs prepare players in their academies and will also provide the first notable link with China and the recently acquired West Midlands football clubs. Sporting Group International will be exclusively managing the visit and we will be working alongside a selected number of partners to ensure that their visit is memorable and it will receive extensive media coverage in both the UK & China.
